Erin Owens, MA, LPC, CAMS-II

One of the biggest passions and joys of my life is seeing people feel safe enough to unpack the vulnerable parts of their soul and experience the radical healing that can come from being totally known and totally loved. I strive to create a safe and warm environment where individuals can be completely themselves without any judgment. My hope is for this experience to be healing and transformative—but also have moments of laughter and easy human connection.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of Northern Colorado and my MA in Clinical Counseling from Colorado Christian University. Before starting my own private practice, I spent 8.5 years at a Christian non-profit counseling center serving a variety of populations including couples, families, ages ranging from 3 years old to 90, individuals who identified as Christians, and people of other faiths or no faith affiliation at all. I also spent four years serving in a variety of leadership roles in the organization and supervising clinicians in the process of completing their licensing hours. Before joining that group practice, I interned at Medical Center of the Rockies, which grew my heart for healing trauma and working with medical professionals/first responders.

My Christian faith is important to me and is the lens through which I see and interpret the world. I would love to incorporate this into our work if we share the same faith and you would like this to be a part of our time together. However, you may also choose otherwise. Whether we share the same views or not, I will always approach our time together with kindness and respect.

As a proud Colorado native, I am grateful to be able to be a part of caring for our community. When not sitting with clients, you’ll find me enjoying live music, escaping into a good book, getting overly competitive at card games with my family, or hopping on a plane to scratch my travel itch.

Some of the approaches I find myself utilizing the most are as follows:

  • Christian Counseling

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Couples Therapy

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Solution Focused Therapy

Erin Owens leads with a Christlike compassion combined with a keen intellect, delightful sense of humor, and insatiable appetite for knowledge. I don't know of any professional more dedicated to her craft, more well-read, or more competent, but somehow she also maintains an effortless humility and warmth. While she enjoys learning, the thing that really motivates Erin's mastery is her love for her clients and her total commitment to their best interests. Her passion for this work is nothing short of inspiring; in fact, the impact she has on others' lives and the obvious fulfillment she gets in return are the primary factors that attracted me to this field! From a client perspective, Erin has earned a reputation throughout the community for providing excellent care and getting amazing results while making the process FUN! Truly, I cannot count the number of times her name has come up in contexts totally unrelated to counseling and someone has said, "Erin?!? She counseled so-and-so, and they LOVE her!" She's the total package in a counselor, with a life and faith to back it up. There is no counselor I would recommend more highly than Erin.
